In 2006, a group of young professionals with connections to the Kansas City area gathered in New York City to find a way to collectively give back to the Kansas City community. Our group, since named Flatland Urban Network by KC Yankees (F.U.N.K.Y.), decided that we would host bi-annual events to benefit non-profit organizations addressing areas of need in the Greater Kansas City community.
